Fight Fires in the New Year at Conshohocken Fire Co. No. 2

Becoming a firefighter at Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 has changed the lives of many volunteers. If you’re looking for a positive way to spend time or want to start training for a career in the emergency services field, joining Conshohocken Fire Co. “You don’t need any prior experience to join. We provide all our volunteers with the training and equipment they need to be a successful member of our team,” said Deputy Chief Calvin Perlman.

At Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2, extra hands are always needed, and we are looking for
volunteers ages 16 and older in the following positions:

Firefighter/Rescue Tech
Volunteer firefighters, ages 18 and older, respond to fires and emergencies in homes, commercial or industrial buildings, and along major roads. Protect property and perform lifesaving duties including search and rescue, ladder placement and forcible entries. Respond to specialized calls, including auto accidents, water rescues, gas and carbon monoxide leaks.

Junior Firefighter
Teens ages 14 and older can volunteer as junior firefighters and learn from experienced, knowledgeable, and veteran firefighters to prepare to become a full member at 18. Parental signature required to join.

Fire Police
Your duties include directing traffic and crowd control to keep first responders and the
public safe.

Administrative Staff
As an administrative staff member your duties may be assisting with fundraisers, community events, social media management, financial responsibilities or washing the trucks.

No Experience is Necessary to Join
Conshohocken firefighters receive local and state-certified training and learn life-saving
techniques at the Montgomery County Fire Academy.

“Our fire company receives a variety of different calls ranging from house fires to vehicle
extrication to water rescue,” said Perlman. “We are always ready to respond.”

Volunteers also master invaluable skills in communication, problem-solving, and leadership.
